New "Rogue One" Theory

Two days ago we received some interesting news about the upcoming Star Wars stand-alone film "Rogue One". "Rogue One" is being directed by Gareth Edwards and produced by Kathleen Kennedy. The film has begun principal photography and will be released December 16, 2016.

"Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe,” says Kathleen Kennedy. “It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know. Gareth is such an innovative director and I’m so excited to be working with him and the extraordinary ensemble cast he’s selected for ‘Rogue One.’”  (full article HERE.)

Finally some new cast members were announced for the film. One of which is Mads Mikkelsen who most of you probably know as the title character from the popular show "Hannibal"!

Now as I mentioned in a post last month, a rumor recently went around that Cad Bane, among other bounty hunters, will be starring in "Rogue One" as a team hired by Darth Vader to stop the rebels from stealing the Death Star plans. This has not been confirmed by as far as my knowledge, but the rumor has not been denied yet so it might be true.

I have a new theory about "Rogue One." I don't want to go too deep into it because, of course, we still have a long time to wait until we receive more news on "Rogue One," news that could easily deny that my theory is true. But since I doubt we'll receive updates for some time - most likely not until "The Force Awakens" comes out in December - I'm going to stick by this theory for now.

My theory is that Mads Mikkelsen will play Cad Bane through motion capture.

I have a few reasons behind this theory. First is that Mikkelsen's role has not been confirmed, second is that a rumor has already gone around that Bane will be in the film. Mads Mikkelsen and Bane also have some striking resemblances in voice and facial structure.

Again, it's just a simple theory for now, and it probably isn't true. But to me Mads Mikkelsen seems like an appropriate actor to cast for live-action Bane, and as it stands nothing stands in the way of this theory being de-bunked. Until it's confirmed or denied, as always, I'll be on the lookout for anymore "Rogue One" updates.
